Chester Springs, PA, February 7, 2022 – SAFR Sports, a safety innovation company, is proud to sign with its first public high school in Philadelphia, Frankford High School, to help make their football team safer. This season, the Pioneers will wear SAFR ProTech helmet covers, scientifically proven to reduce concussive impacts by as much as 72%.
“Our top priority is to create a safe environment in every sport we play, and protecting the head is vital to the success of our student athletes,” said Frankford Athletic Director Ben Dubin. “Our decision to wear SAFR ProTechs is aligned with that mission.”
Recent data from a three-year independent study at a major university in Pennsylvania showed the effectiveness of wearing ProTechs, and the results have been published in scientific journals, including the Journal of Concussion. “At SAFR, we are continually pursuing new ways to improve sports safety through science, and we credit Frankford High School for taking this important step to protect their team,” said SAFR Sports CEO John Zeglinski.
SAFR Sports is staffed by former football players and professionals, all who share the singular mission of making football and all contact sports safer through science. SAFR’s ProTech helmet cover, worn by nearly 300 college teams, high schools, and youth football leagues, has been proven to reduce impact accelerations that reduce the adverse effects of repeated sub-concussive blows. Other important advantages of the ProTech include being permitted for game-play by the National Federation of High Schools. In addition, the ProTech is custom-manufactured to model and size, and will match the color and finish of existing helmets.
