SAFR Sports and Maxwell Football Club announce three-year Partnership to help make football players safer

Chester Springs, PA, March 1, 2022 – SAFR Sports, a safety innovation company, and the Maxwell Football Club agreed to a three-year partnership aimed at making youth football players safer. The agreement includes health and wellness education at Maxwell sponsored events, including this spring’s High School Leadership Seminar and showcase events this summer. Next year’s Maxwell Club Gala will include a new ‘Athletic Trainer of the Year’ award given to the individual who best exemplifies making their football environment safer.

Maxwell Football Club’s Executive Director Mark Wolpert explained, “Our organization has always stressed player safety, and we are pleased to partner with SAFR Sports and their mission to make our sport safer through science. Our new relationship will help us expand the way we honor excellence, by also honoring safety in the great game of football.”

“We know that in the United States alone, more than 3.8 million sports-related concussions occur annually. While much of the head protection industry focuses on identifying and diagnosing injuries, we at SAFR advocate for products that are focused on prevention,” said SAFR President & CEO John Zeglinski.

The innovative SAFR Helmet Cover fits over football helmets and uses Scientifically Advanced Force Reduction technology that is scientifically proven to reduce force and impact acceleration by as much as 72%. Today, SAFR Helmet Covers are worn by nearly 300 football teams, including youth leagues, high schools, as well as colleges in every Power 5 conference (Big 10, PAC 10, SEC, ACC, and Big 12). SAFR Sports is led by a team of committed engineers, doctors, executives and former NFL/NCAA athletes, all who have a shared focus to make contact sports safer for all athletes.

SAFR also owns patents that improve head protection in other sports, including ice hockey, lacrosse, and biking.
